Beach Trip at night

Well Dex woke up from his afternoon sleep and it was 6pm (he slept late this morning so both sleeps happened a bit later than usual) and we thought it was so sunny still and he would need wearing out, so took him over to the beach.

We got there at 7pm and it was just after 8 when we left, but Dex had a GREAT time!

It was the first time he had been to the beach since learning to walk, so he was racing around like a crazy boy.

Was nice to just get outside and have some beachy-fresh air.

A little perspective for Wednesday

It's pretty easy to complain about the hand we've been dealt. Maybe our kids don't behave like we'd like. Maybe we don't see enough of our partners. Maybe we just don't have enough time in our day to do everything. I know I'm guilty of this!

But yesterdays earthquake quickly reminded me that there is always someone with a tougher deal than we have. No matter what is going on in life, there is always something happening to someone else that makes some of our own little daily problems incredibly trivial and not worth complaining about.

That's all I really have to say today. For a change! For something more fun and happy, check out Red's Favourite things over at The Mummy Diaries.

Latest Blog Post Over at "The Mummy Diaries"

Good Morning!

So I worked long and hard last night and got the latest article for The Mummy Diaries, and it is now up. This week it is about spending quality time with your kiddies, not just watching them play, or half-watching them while you surf the net. It's a tricky balance, especially if you really do need to get stuff done!

Anyway, would love you to go check it out. The Mummy Diaries

Happy Monday!

Fat Loss Friday - Not so great this week

Good morning fellow bloggers.

So my weigh in today wasn't so great. I had a feeling that was going to be the case. Between normal temporary "female" weight gain and also having a (small) maccas lunch and then Lone Star for dinner last night ( read: complete overindulgence for hubbys birthday) I didn't expect a loss at all.

So I'm up 200g. But I know that will be gone within a couple of days again so not too sad about it, cos I had a really nice dinner and dessert!!

This is the view from my lounge this morning so Dex and I are off for a walk!

De Cluttering The House Take 2

So once hubby and I finished work for 2010 we went on a huge rampage cleaning out the house to make more space for... well... space. But we (ok, I) neglected a couple of very important places. Yesterday I attacked one of those places... The Linen Cupboard.

We built this house just over 3 years ago, and to be honest, I don't think it has been cleaned out once.

So here is yesterdays effort....

From this...

To this.....

Scuse the crooked pic. Our hallway is quite narrow so was leaning all over the wall trying to get a decent picture.

So yeah. That was my morning yesterday!

Yay for cool, free, crafty goodies!

So I have been lucky enough to win a couple of cool freebies lately, which I am quite excited about. I don't normally win stuff, so two in a week is GREAT!

First up, I was a runner up in a Valentines Day competition on Rhiannons blog, Remarquable Junque. The picture is above. I was impressed enough with my runner up prize, so I would love to have seen the winners prize! There was a whole lot of chocolates in there. 3 hand made gift tags, a gorgeous bracelet in a cute little gift bag.

The other thing I won recently was a cute lil bookmark from Bronwyn over at 1001 Book Reviews, I am reading a book to review called The Forsyte Sage, which is 6 books in one, and over 1000 pages long. I am scared!! The photo isn't great, but that's a cute little pink flower on the top of the bookmark.

Besides my freebies, I have been busy over at The Mummy Diaries, a page I have started up with Bonnie recently. Would love you to come over and check us out!

De-Frumpy-Fying - First steps

Soooo. I posted last night about how I feel like a fat frump and am going to do something about it. Today I got started on this. Only basic (and free) stuff. But I felt a little better.

Shaved legs
Exfoliated (made me feel thinner)
Wore some nice (and non-child stained) clothes
Moisturised my face
Wore mascara

So all stuff that cost me absolutamente nada. But still. Helped a little. Then I went shopping with the D tornado on a hunt for a lil table and chairs for him and cool De-Frumping accessories for me. I bought nothing. Except a ball for D. And a purple walrus for my littlest pet shop collection that I have been wanting forever. Judge me not my bloggy friends. I started collecting at Xmas time when my mum saw how excited I got over them while picking out one for a friends daughter. And so it began. Aren't they cute? You'll notice the new Walrus is missing. I think Dex may have stolen him, packaging and all to some secret place only he knows about. So this whole part of my post was a wast of time.

But I got my cool scarf yesterday. The first of many I am hoping. It's actually dark purple and silver, but the light isn't great in the photo. It's like a giant scrunchie, no scarf tying required, just wrap it around a couple of times.

I'm not mad. I just look like that cos I need to get my eyebrows done so badly. That will be Monday!

Have a fantabulous weekend!

Fat Loss Friday - 800g down, how about you?

Happy Fat Loss Friday!!

So my WII Fit board had flat batteries. AGAIN. So luckily last week I got all prepared and also started using my Tanita digital scales from my Training-to-be-a-Personal-Trainer days, pre baby and since chucked in a wardrobe never to be seen again.

According to them I have lost 800g, which I am STOKED about, cos I hurt my neck pretty badly last Tuesday and it is only just starting to come right. Over a week of crazy pain was not good at all.

So yeah, 800g without doing a whole lot and using my mostly immobile-ness as the perfect excuse to gobble and munch on all things unhealthy. Meh. My fat jeans feel a little looser today too. And as per last nights post, the Fat Jeans have to leave me very soon due to my de-frumpy-fying mission.

How did you go this week? Did you try anything new and did it work for you?

Have a great weekend!!

On a mission to de-frumpy-fy myself!

So today I decided. I feel like a fat frumpy blob. Ok I have felt that way for quite awhile. But today I bought myself an AWESOME scarf for winter (not the practical warm kind, the cool, just for looks kind. )

So together with Kelly from Diary of my So Called Interesting Life, we have decided to De-Frumpy-Fy ourselves. We aren't going to go out and spend thousands or anything, just jazz up our accessories, keep my eyebrows tidy, make my nails pretty instead of just long and manky, dye my hair again so it's not all stripey etc. Maybe even get it cut!! Shock horror!!

So, yeah. Losing a couple of kgs (ok 25-30) wouldn't go astray. Am working on that one but once we start on our way to baby #2, that aint gonna be my biggest priority. At least when I'm pregnant I won't look like I'm just fat. Well, I'm hoping anyway!

I will keep you posted on my de-frumpy-fying!

Introducing "The Mummy Diaries"

Good morning lovely readers, hope that you are having a great weekend.

Most of you will know that I started writing articles recently for Kiwi Mummy Blogs, and that took a break over Xmas, however it has now been discontinued, so the awesome Bonnie, from The Baby Bump and Love Miss Bonnie and myself decided we enjoyed it so much that we would set up a new page, dedicated to providing advice and guidance to mums (and dads). Obviously we are not professionals or experts, but we do love to help other parents and give advice, and will get in touch with relevant experts where we can. And of course we know a lot of other parents in differing family situations who we can get in touch with also.

I will still be typing away on here as well, of course, but this new site will be dedicated to all things mummish :)

So please, come over and see us! We will post our first article on Monday, which will introduce you to the both of us. Please feel free to either comment on the blog, or use the Email tab to send us any questions or advice.

We are both VERY excited about this new project and would love you to join us!

Fat Loss Friday - How did you go?

Sorry for the late post everyone, I went to Hamilton this morning and  although I weighed in, I didn't get a chance to post about it.

I think there is a problem with my Wii Fit board. Last week it said I had lost 1.6kg, this week first it said I had GAINED 1.6kg, then 5 minutes later it said I had lost 600g, then I tried again and had lost another 40g or so.

WTF?? So from now on I will use the electronic scales I have dug out of a wardrobe. I don't at all like the weight it says I am, but as long as it shows a loss next week, it's all good, huh?

If I was to go by how my clothes feel though, they are feeling looser than last week, so a good sign.

I have reposted some comments below from people who posted their weigh in details on last nights post. Have to say, go you, Sarah!!!

Chubby Buddys said...

4kgs in 2 weeks, but from now on I'll be weighing in every Friday. I do love the nurse at my drs clinic she's so lovely.

Yay to my super healthy weekend!

So I am coming to the end of my 4 day "mini" detox. The main part of it was lots of veges, no fizzy, no chocolate, no icecream, NO BREAD!!!. And I have succeeded! Besides one glass of sprite zero last night, but that was better than opening the block of chocolate I was really wanting!
I still need to work on more water though. But my body is really liking this whole no bread thing, as I knew it would, so I am going to carry on a little longer. I will let myself have a glass of sprite zero with dinner, but still no icecream, chocolate or bread.

I am definitely feeling less bloated today, and I have still been having 3 meals a day and snacks. Not like this is a big diet revolution or anything, it's all common sense, but I haven't ever cut out bread for this long before, and my tummy is quite pleased I finally have.

Haven't weighed myself yet, figured I will leave that until Friday and see how I have gone over a whole week.

To the person who posted on my last weigh in post, and then deleted it before I could reply; NO I HAVEN'T TAKEN THIS WHOLE DIET OFF YOUR HTC DROPS WEBSITE. ARE YOU KIDDING? LOOK AT WHAT I WAS DOING - SIMPLE HEALTHY EATING!!! I haven't "stolen" your idea, or taken your pills. Ppffftt. Some people be craaaazyyyy!!
