Things I want to achieve for 2012

Having a baby could be considered a pretty damn good achievement already I think. But I'd like to think I can achieve a few other crafty/blog things. Here's my list I have been putting a whole lot of thought into.

In terms of Bloggy Stuff...

1. Update The Undercover Bloggers so that it is all fresh and new and people want to get back into contributing to it. For now it is just sitting there and every few months someone puts a post up. Need to fix that!!

2. Update the NZWAHP's Showcase Blog so the directory is all current and useable. Am half way through this but need to complete it and liven it.

3. Get The Mummy Diaries up and flowing again. I co write this with Bonnie from The Baby Bump, and we both had to stop for awhile since life took over, but we are keen to get it up and cranking again.

4. Liven my crafty Facebook page once there is more stuff on there to sell (more on that below)

I have a few blogs on the go huh?

For the Crafty stuff... this is a biggie

5. Get enough stuff made up to start going to markets/selling online in the hope that people will like said stuff and want to buy it! So far I have narrowed down the many many things I want to make to just a few that I hope to make really well, and am in the process of re-setting up my crafty corner, which my hubby packed up on my behalf while I was pregnant with Amber, as we were planning on putting the house on the market once she was born. So now I am unpacking it and setting it up the way I want it. Will do another post soon with more on this.

For Personal Life stuff..

6. Carry on with my weight loss. Am 4kg lighter than when I got pregnant with Amber. My goal is to be at 75kg by my birthday, which, while it is still ages away, it is getting closer all the time and my weight loss seems to have stopped for the time being. Because of all the rubbish I keep eating. I am under no illusions of this, and hold myself completely responsible!! No excuses, it is what it is.

To be honest, I could go on and on about my goals, but you don't have all day and I will never acheive them if I spend all day writing about what they are!! So let's leave it at that for now :)

Another Crafty Project...

So I made this tutu awhile ago (for Xmas) but with holidays, babies being born etc, took awhile to get some pictures. But here you go...

The happy model. You'd never know she was
not keen to go outside and pose!

Am planning to start on Ambers tiny tutus this weekend. Am thinking a purple one and... not sure. Maybe a girly pink one GASP!

Poor neglected wee blggy

My poor wee blog. I keep saying I will get back into writing in you more regularly but I am just such a busy girl that I keep running out of time!
I am keeping well up to date on NW Work at Home Parents Showcase and at The Mummy Diaries but this blog, well, it's not that I have nothing to say, I just keep forgetting to write!

Anyhoo, have been quite busy since getting back from holiday. I had meant to make another tutu, this one for my cousins little girl, back in April, but ran out of time. She has just turned 3 and is starting ballet lessons so what better time for a funky purple tutu? Her dad (my cousin) comes up to see her this weekend, so I thought if I can have it ready by then, I will shoot over and give it to her.

I better go rescue my grizzling child, will update properly with pics of latest creations over the weekend

Busy Multi-Tasking Mummy

Dex meeting his "cousin" Anna for the first time.

So I just realised it has been over a week since I last posted! And that post was a blah post too. Oops. Sorry bloggy friends. I will try harder.

So what have I been doing?

Well, I have been busy over at The Mummy Diaries, we had our first giveaways, one for the blog and one for the Facebook Page. The birth stories keep rolling in too, which is great, please feel free to send yours in, with pictures if you like. Email them to us here.
Trying to do "surprised" faces. I don't think Dex got it.

On Friday last week, I set up a new blog page called www.nzwahmshowcase.blogspot.com. The idea of it is to give free advertising to Work at home parents. It was initially WAHMs but I decided that was a little sexist of me and so changed it. Of course I will support WAHDs as well! So anyway, the idea is that as WAHPs can join up and as they post new articles to their blogs advertising their products/services, I will have them added to mine, to increase the traffic to their pages, and hopefully increase their business. At some stage I would like to have paid advertising on there also, but for now, the site is totally free and I am doing it from the goodness of my heart :) Cos I'm nice like that. So if you want to be on board, please email me. There is only 4 followers so far, but I hope that as it builds up a little, there will be more people wanting to advertise their products/services and more people to read about them!

There is also a permanent page which will eventually have a proper built up directory that you can go to to find particular services in your area, as there are more people to put in it!

No, he didn't drink the bourbon (so daddy tells me)

Moving on!

I made my first tutu! Not too bad for a first attempt I think. I have another under way now. This one is for a 9 year old, and the new one I'm making is bright blue and is for a 6 month old. As you can see I changed the ribbon, the pic with 2 ribbons is what it looks like now.

I have been working, walking and weight watching. 300g down last week, which is better than gaining weight, which I was doing for the few weeks before this one.

Besides that, I have been trying to spend lots of quality time with my 2 favourite boys.

So that's me! The last 9 days of my life. Now I have to go feed the cat before she...
A. Wakes up Dex with her constant meowing.
B. Drives me to insanity with her door scratching.

And then it is bed time. Night Night all!

Sunday Blues

So I just had a few pics of me posted on Facebook, and I have to say they are TERRIBLE! Not that the person taking the pics did a bad job, but I look bloody awful. Puffy, fat, regrowth, double chins. Not good.

That said, this is what I had for dessert last night... (only one of the bowls) Choc Icecream, Choc mousse and choc chips. We felt like chocolate.

So I guess back into stepping up the exercise, being good with my eating again and back on the de-frumpyfying mission, cos I was not happy seeing those pictures!!

On a happier note, I had a pretty good weekend. A friends little boys 1st Birthday party yesterday, here's his birthday cake...

Had a friend over for dinner, dessert, pina coladas and to watch Burlesque. A great movie, but then I love movies like that, with awesome dancing and singing.

Had my first flea market stall this morning. I only made $28 profit, hubby made $75. Not bad for someone who only decided at the last minute that he wanted to join in. Here's all the stuff I was selling....

I'm going to the Papamoa market next weekend. I am going to try and knock out a couple of tutus and see if there is any interest. Must finish the other ones I'm making for friends first though!.

So that's my weekend. Lots of fun was had, back to being good again tomorrow though.

Crafty To Do List - Updated

Awhile ago I posted in the main part of my blog about how I have a lot of projects that I am working on, some 5 years old. So I have found even more projects in my cleaning up time (a whole other project in itself!) and have decided I will list them in the order I intend on completing them. Although that is bound to change as I procrastinate my way through 2011.

Enter AUT Creative Writing Competition. This actually closes tomorrow and I am almost done, so will be able to complete this soon.
Mums birthday necklace. Her birthday is in 2 weeks so hopefully will get this done soon also.
Tissue Carnations that were meant to be a bouquet for a Christmas present.
Dexter's birth til now Scrap book. So far birth-6 weeks is done. Gulp.
Display for my Keyring collection.
Brooch bouquet.
Wedding Photo album
Honeymoon Scrapbook
Australia, Fiji and South Island holiday scrap book. 5 years old.
Finish sewing my first attempt at a kids dress.
Tutu and Fairy wings I have always wanted to make. (I know, I don't even have a daughter).
Complete the half finished bibs I have sitting around.
Dexters playgroup scrapbook.
Dexters Words book.
Up North holiday scrapbook. Only a couple of pages left to do on this one.
Friends Scrapbook. Very out of date.
Start making "softies".
Complete shell display (I have been collecting over the years)
Memory box for me.
Book for all Dexters' baby shower and 1st birthday cards.
Memory box for Dexter.
Learn to Crochet.
So I have enough there for 2 projects a month. That is kind of a big ask, but also acheiveable, as a lot of the projects are half done already.

Wish me luck!!

My Crafty To Do list for the next few months

My pile of crafty project goodness, some over 4 years old!

Those of you who know me are well aware that I am prone to starting projects and not finishing them. So over the last few weeks while sorting out our house and getting rid of heaps of stuff so we have room for an addition to our house at some point, I went through my copious amounts of "craft boxes" and wrote myself a list of projects that I really should finish before I crack into any new ones.
Dexter's Playgroup Scrapbook
Dexter's Birth - now (16months) scrapbook

There are a few other projects besides the ones    pictured.

 * A necklace for my mum that I started for her last      birthday. Am aiming to complete that for her
next birthday (just under a month away)

 * My own Memories Box, as well as one for Dexter

*Wedding album (married 4 years this April)

*Complete all the bibs I cut out months ago

Dexters' Baby Shower and First Birthday Cards, to be
made into a book for his
"Memories Box"

* Honeymoon and Wedding Album and Scrapbook (we have been Married 4 years this April, so want it done by then)

* Australia and Fiji Scrapbook (We went away 5 years ago this year, so a little overdue)

*Friends Scrapbook (lots of pics cut out but nothing more done since then)

* Get started on Dexter's Memory Box, I've kept his little birth card, wrist and ankle tags and birth notices to get that started.

* Dexters' "Words" book that I started for a Christmas present but didn't get it finished. It's really cool, lots of pictures of Animals, cars etc, and the sounds the all make.

So I have a fair bit to keep me busy! As I complete them I will upload photos to the "Crafty Goodness section of my page.
